Final stretch | Wrapping up the Design Phase

Hello again,

The design phase has finally come to an end! The loads of information gathered during our research phase in Cameroon are included in the final design of the Docking Station. It was a tough and time consuming job, but we are proud on the result.

Once we were in back in Holland in our studio at the University, we structured all the main insights and conclusions and turned them into lists of requirements for the design of a Docking Station. We were still struggling with the complexity of the project and all the dependent factors. The solution to this challenge was just starting to sketch concepts. While doing this one has to make decisions and this way the process can be continued.

From the several concepts that were made, we selected the best features from each concept. Combining all these led us to the final concept, in which simplicity and minimalism were keywords. This concept was elaborated further and further until it was ready to be prototyped. Prototyping the design took us about a week, meanwhile we were still working on the business model as well.

By now, the prototype and the business model are presented to the company and the final report is handed in. Because of the holiday period, there will be only a few proceedings during the next weeks, but we are looking forward to the feedback of both the Company and the University.

By the end of August we will post a final update on the blog. For now, we wish NDASSIE all the best with implementing the business!

Vriendelijke groeten/Kind regards
